What is the difference between a Chevy Suburban and a Cadillac Escalade ESV? Aside from $15,000.00, not too much! We’ve often had the question come up here at KARL Chevrolet and here’s my basic breakdown.
With the Suburban, the price goes from about $38k – $54k. For that money, you get a family sized SUV that seats up to 9 with a 5.3L V-8, 4 Wheel Drive, a 31 gallon gas tank, and 15/21 MPG. It’s an SUV that can carry everyone in comfort and can be equipped with just about every amenity you would find on an Escalade.
Now, for an Escalade ESV you’ll pay between $60k – $70k. For that sizable chunk of cash, you will get a family sized SUV that seats only 7 (or 8 with the middle bench seat) with a 6.2L V-8, 4 Wheel Drive, a 31 gallon gas tank, and maybe 13/19 MPG. Buying this truck will get you a bit more “bling” out of the box but at the expense of weight, functionality, and gas mileage.
So, that’s my quick synopsis. The Chevy brings more seating, better mileage, and nearly the identical profile. I realize I am skipping over lots of other little details but that’s exactly what they are, little details. If you want more “bling” or some other custom accessories, use the money you saved by buying the Suburban!
Escalade!!!!
