Hope Lights Lives Luminary Lighting is set for Sunday, Decmeber 11, 2011 at 5:00pm
Luminary Kits for New Canaan will be distributed at KARL Chevrolet on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 12noon to 3:00pm
The annual “Hope Lights Lives” luminary project is well underway, which means the holidays aren’t too far behind.
The “Hope Lights Lives” fundraiser supports the Center for HOPE and The Den for Grieving Kids – Family Centers’ programs offering bereavement and critical illness support. On Sunday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m., neighborhoods throughout Fairfield County will light special luminary candles to celebrate the holiday season and provide support and hope to people living with an illness or grieving the loss of a loved one. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 18.
This year’s campaign promises to be the most expansive yet, as dozens of additional neighborhoods in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Rowayton, Stamford, Weston and Wilton have already pledged their support by agreeing to set out luminaries on the lighting night.
Once again this year, KARL Chevrolet will serve as the distribution point for New Canaan. Luminary kits may be picked up on Saturday, December 10th from 12:00noon to 3:00pm.
“Hope Lights Lives” is primarily a volunteer-based effort. Town and Block Captains from each community sell luminary kits and deliver order forms to households on their streets. Dozens of other volunteers also help assemble luminary kits, and distribute them as the lighting date nears. Last year, more than 600 volunteers helped sell over 6,000 luminary kits.
Thank you for your support!
